A country I would like to visit

In this three years that I´m stuying my career, archaeology, I have known such many different cultures and societies from the past and from now. Of course, I met them from the books. And that's the reason for which I would like to meet some very special places for me in situ. One of them are the Pacific Islands. A place further studied by anthropologists because its practices like the navigation by guilding stars or their rituals. The first point its my principal area of interest, and which I want to settle there some day. 





One area of the archaeological discipline is the archaeoastronomy, which studies the ancient knowledge of star and sky associated to landscape and practices, architectural buildings, costumes and the whole social imaginary. Its a subdiscipline that have many performance in the Pacific Islands, specifying Polinesia, where the navigation by stars and other bearings was fair practiced. I want to travel around these islands and why not, try out by my own.

Evaluation of your blogging experience

I have always liked writting, since I was a child. So, if I have to write something, I do it willingly. Writting for this blog it has been fun, more than I expected. During this blog I talk to you about me and my career. But I think that, if other oportunities arise for writting, of course, I´m going to continue with this, because there is many more themes for talking. I think that there are two good ways for learning english properly: speaking and writting. The best part is that we can write here freely, about us and things that like to us. And that makes writting more easy and fun. 
In my case, I think that writting on this blog it has been very enriching for me. Definitely is a good choice for learning english. But there still some way ahead, so surely I´m going to continue with this method. 
For the future? Well, I think that I just wrote an introduction. I have two ideas for continue writting. One is write about different topics, like food, sports, things that like and dislike to us, music, and many other themes of daily life, and meet viewpoints of other people, in order to know different aspects of life.
The other way is write stories created from me. I said before, I like to write very much. 
Well, is time to say goodbye, but not forever. Write is for me a pasion, so I´ll come back for more posts! See you soon and good luck!

My best friend?

In this moment, I don´t have a best friend. Of course that I had it, but it was some years ago. Today, even if I don´t have a best friend, I have two friends more closer than others. Their names are Constanza and Nicolette. We met two years and a half ago. In high school we belong to different groups, but in that moment I talked with everybody, including them. We laughted a lot and share many things, including a secret. We make a covenant, that we have to accomplish this year. Our friendship it has become more stronger. The days that I have more freely we come together to the cinema, to climb a hill, to window shopping, or simply to eat something and talk about what we have done these days. I choose them this time because I really enjoy the time I spend with them. With them I forget for a moment all University´s stuff, I feel more relax. The best memory that we have? There is one day, when we went to Mahuida Park, and we lost in the way! But we finally we arrived to the park. On the return we sit in the back of the bus. We did stupid things and behave like chavs all the way. We laughted a lot. Its sound stupid, but these stupid and littles things are actually good moments that we share with friends, on any given day.

I hope this frienship become stronger and stronger with years. Sometimes people that someone more frequents in school is the first in disappears. But I always thing that true frienship it is given with time, good moments and loyalty. If you see this three things in a friendship that you have with someone, you must take care that frienship, because these are worthwhile.

A subject you have enjoyed studying this semester

In a beginning, archaeology 1 was my favorite subject. Archaeology is the specialization that I want to choose once I finish the basic cycle. But as time has passed, there is other subject that it like to me more than archaeology 1. Anthropology 1 classes are very interesting and less rigid than other subjects. Generally, visit us a teacher from more advanced grades and does a class of the many texts that we have to read. That is for the first block. In the second block we often do grupal activities about the class. The thing that I like about the class is the contents. The focus has been primarily about the concept of individual and social person, his rol in the community, his identity and ways for understanding development of human being in society. Recently we are working on an ethnography, which is basically an detailed observation of normal behavior from a group of persons. This asignature it makes me doubt about the specialization. Now I must to consider two options (Social Anthropology and Archaeology). But I still have time. 

An expert on your field

Well. This is my first year in University. I do not know well teachers from career, distinguished anthropologists or prominent archaeologists , but there is a teacher that has drawn my attention. His name is Claudio Cristino. He is my archaeology teacher, from section 2. He don´t talk very much, but his work like an explorer and a professional archaeologist is very interesting. 

First of all, I´m going to talk about who is he. He is a chilean Anthropologist and Archaeologist from Universidad de Chile. Not much I know about him. The only thing I could mention about him is something that he said one day. He said that he is married, with a woman from Easter Island. I don´t know if he has children, but I think he has. 

Claudio Cristino has dedicated almost 30 years of his life to research the islands of Polynesia, making a big contribution in the restoration of religious monuments from Easter Island. He lead several research projects in colaboration with other archaeological organizations in the islands of Polynesia and was also appointed director from anthropological museum  

I choose him because I think his work in Easter Island it is very interesting. Their working years make him a real pioneer in that zone. 

 

My favorite festivity

There is a day in the year that I like it very much since I was a child. New year´s day is celebrated the first day in the new year, january 1st. But the celebration and its setouts begin the day before, december 31th. All that preparation for receiving the new year is something that I like very much. This festivity it dates back to Ancient Babylon, 4000 years ago. New Year start with the first crescent, in spring. Others countries celebrate New Year in different days. January 1st was established at the time of the Romans, in the gobverment of Julio Cesar.
Additionally to preparing dinner, I like a tradition in particular. I write all my wishes in a paper, ncluding objetives and personal goals that I propose myself. Then, I bury the paper in some place, or also I burn it, and throw the ashes from above (I live in a department. The building have 27 levels, so I go to the rooftop). 
I like New Year´s day because there is a desire to improve the next year. Be a better person,   do good actions and amend the mistakes from the past.

My favorite photograph

When I was in school, my teacher spoke to us about Nazca lines. This lines have an unknown origin. People think that lines was created by aliens, but that it´s just a supposition. I like very much this mysterious things, so I decided to search some photos on the internet after that class. The photos was published by Erich Von Däniken in 1968 in the book Remembers from future. I choose one in particular, called The Astronaut, that is the most controversial figure of all. According to a myth from the civilization of Lake Titicaca, say that the astronaut is a "being coming from the stars" whose intention was improve a savage giant race of the past by miscegenation. 

Interesting, isn't? A lot of amateurs say that the image is a proof of aliens existence in earth. Others more sceptic say that is just a representation of a man. What do you think about?
