Archaeology

Hi everyone! The topic this week is about careers. Mine is archaeology. Here in the University of Chile first we enter in a general course of anthropology. After two years we choose one of three mentions available: social anthropology, physical anthropology and archaeology. But, I must to say that in high school I was very confused. Many ideas went through my mind. Firstly I was interested on astronomy. I still love astronomy, but I think that formulas and calculation wasn´t of my complete liking. Astronomy in theory is just so beautiful, but if you want to study a career you must feel comfortable with all the things that career carry on. Medical technology was another option. At sixteen years old I choose biological asignatures (called electives), thinking in this careers as a good choice for me. In that moment archaeology and psychology capture my attention too. Then I realized that medical technology neither was something on which I feel passionate for it. So I had this two options in my hand. Truly I didn´t have much knowledge about archaeology. However, I considered archaeology like a very exciting career. Something capable to give me a huge amount of knowledge of all tipe. A outsider discipline that allows me to travel and meet cultures so different to ours. I thought that archaeology workfield was not so developed in this country. And in part that´s true. At the other hand, I usually am a very observat person. Sense people is something that I´m good at. It was a very difficult choice, but finally I tend toward archaeology. And I´m so happy for that decision. I´m going to be honest. The first year of university I had some doubts. But during the second year, I was so sure. And now I´m completely motivated. Actually I already have a theme on which I want to get on.

Identity

Hi everyone! Today I'm going to talk to you about a suspense movie that I saw on school five years ago, and until today it still surprises me. Every time I see it again I find new things that can change all the trama. It calls Identity, a movie from 2003. Start with a scene where a group of ten people got trapped because a storm, and must lodge in a hotel far from all communication.

The chilling part begin when one of them, a famous actress with arrogance complex, leaves outside the hotel to searching signal for her phone. She founds in the way a mysterious object with a number on it, and then someone kill her. Everyone in the hotel got alarmed, and things become every time more creepy and strange. The main objective now is to find the murderer. But there is nobody else besides the nine sheltered in the hotel, so ¿Who of them is the killer?

The interesting of this movie is the complex relationship with the features of personality and certain mental disorders inside the dimension of the human identity. A very recommended movie if you like the psychological thriller and unexpected finals.

Villarrica

Its such a place that you never forget. I think that, when I went to Villarrica for the first time, it was the best holidays of my childhood, an maybe of my life. We went there in 2005, on february if I don´t mistake. I remember my mom waking me up at 4 o'clock in the morning. The day before I got vaccinated and my arm was a little bite swollen. We got into uncle´s car and started travel. My grandma prepared some sandwiches for the journey. Oh, I loved her sandwiches. We divided half and half with my brother, but of course if I had the opportunity, I would have eaten more.

When we arrived, we founded with the most beautiful place that ever knew. A Volcano covered of snow, the araucarias in the park, and then, a cottage viewing to the lake. My uncle got that cabin from a good friend of him. The next days we visit the Calafquen Lake, in the commune of Lican Ray, the Caburgua Lake, a nature reserve called Ojos del Caburgua and the volcano itself. Well, we just reached the lower part, but we could saw it very close from us. Now that I remember that day, I just laugh. My grandma had sit down some minutes to rest. Suddenly, she felt a tickle in all her body, when we noticed that she was all covered with giant ants! Near to volcanos the earth is more fertile, and I imagine that includes certain species of bugs.

Well, I think that I never forget that holidays. But now I´m thinking, the reason of that is not the place that my uncle choose. We could have a great time in any place, because we just wanted to got fun with the other.
